Settling in

We want your child to feel safe and happy at Pre-school and you are welcome to come in with them at first.

Once they are happily settled we encourage children to come in by themselves, be assured there will always be a member of staff to assist.

We suggest a 3 stage settling-in process for those children attending full days, particularly if it’s their first experience of being away from home. The timescale will varying according to the individual - for some this will be just a day at each stage, for others a week, a month or more - we want the children to be happy at each stage before moving on to the next.

• Stage 1 - morning 9:00-12:00

• Stage 2 - morning and lunchtime 9:00-13:00

• Stage 3 - full day 9:00-15:00
